On April 22 we celebrate “Earth Day“.

Peace activist John McConnel introduced the idea of celebrating Earth Day in 1969 during a UNESCO conference.

The UN started to celebrate Earth Day in 1992.

At the suggestion of the Bolivian government in 2009 the General Assembly of the United Nations designated April 22 as “International Mother Earth Day“.
