Bay laurel syrup is an excellent cough remedy. Since you can find bay laurel and fresh lemon all year around, this syrup will be on hand whenever needed. But make sure you find and purchase organic lemon.
10 bay leaves
10 teaspoons of sugar
1 lemon cut into pieces
3 dl water
Put all ingredients in a bowl and cook on low heat for about 40 minutes. The syrup will thicken a little bit when it is cooled.
You can strain the syrup from the solids and keep in a jar in the refrigerator. The dosage for relieving cough is one tablespoon in the morning and one tablespoon at night before bedtime.
