Calendula cream
Calendula cream is a great solution for dry and chapped skin, especially during winter when the skin is exposed to cold and in jobs where hands should be kept clean at all times, as in the catering business or the medical profession.
The healing calendula cream can be made easily using three basic ingredients. You need olive oil, calendula flowers and beeswax. Calendula cream protects and heals dry skin, promotes healing of wounds and burns, and can be used on the entire body.
First method
Ingredients
125 ml olive oil
2-3 tablespoons dried calendula petals
10 g natural beeswax
Preparation
Heat the oil lightly and add the dry calendula petals. The infusion should be allowed to stay at least 15 minutes for the medicinal ingredients to diffuse into the oil. Strain the petals. Re-heat the oil and add the beeswax. The cream is ready, and as it cools down it hardens quickly – prepare a glass container to keep the calendula cream.
Second method
50 grams calendula flowers
0.5 liters olive oil
40 grams beeswax
Put the calendula flowers in a jar and cover with olive oil. Seal the jar and keep 2-3 weeks in a warm place. After that, strain the oil into a container. Heal the oil and add the beeswax. When the beeswax is melted remove from heat and stir well. Pour the calendula liquid into smaller glass jars.
Keep the cream in the refrigerator.
