Golden milk


The antioxidant polyphenol curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric and it is one of the most powerful natural medicine. Increased interest of the scientific community proved its anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Turmeric is used for prevention and treatment of diseases, and this recipe is a great way to consume turmeric.

To make golden milk it is first necessary to prepare the turmeric paste. The paste can be kept in the refrigerator in a tightly closed glass jar for about ten days. One tablespoon of the turmeric paste is used for the preparation of a cup of golden milk. To obtain high-quality drink, please use organic ingredients!

Ingredients for turmeric paste

50g turmeric powder
1 dl water
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons coconut oil

Put the turmeric, water and ground black pepper in a stainless steel pot.
Mix well and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes until a thick paste forms.
Remove from heat and add two tablespoons of coconut oil, stir well.
Store the resulting paste in a glass container in the refrigerator.
Coconut fat is used to dissolve turmeric, while the substance piperine from black pepper is known to increase the bioavailability of curcumin (you will not feel the black pepper taste in the finished preparation).

Ingredients for the preparation of golden milk

1 teaspoon of turmeric paste
1 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon vanilla
a pinch of cinnamon
honey (optional)

You can use raw cow’s milk, cooked cow’s milk, as well as almond or oat milk.
Slowly warm up the milk to help dissolve the turmeric paste, then add vanilla and cinnamon.
If you like sweet beverages feel free to use a little honey.
